during the year of 2025. i had gone through TONNES of drama. from fake friends to people having shitty personalities. from people who attacked me for stating my opinion and weaponized their online presence to people who spread lies and misinformation about me over an attitude adjustment. sure im partially to blame at every step but after a while i begun thinking about how i came into contact with all these people and the common denominator was discord. eboys, egirls, spammers, fake people. these are few of the many types of people i find on discord. after coming to this "shocking" realization. i decided to leave discord for every personal reason.
at the time of writing this page (2025/11/22), no one has really noticed im even gone. to most i will probably just become a distant memory. someone they occasionally ask "i havent seen her in a while. wonder what she's up to." and for others "who?". a few super close friends loaded up IRC to keep in touch with me and have enjoyed themselves so far. these people are my day ones. people i wouldnt ditch even if the world was on fire.
if you're even reading this website then the answer is most likely no. i just decided that my mental health matters more than some stupid purple platform. did i most likely lose a lot of friends i spoke to over said platform? yep. will most of those friends even visit me once in a while on IRC? probs not. i wont hold it against those people tho. who the hell wants to leave the place where all their friends are just to talk to an internet bunny? its completely understandable.
as of the 10th of december 2025. the australian government implemented a ban on anyone under the age of 16 from accessing social media. now while i am 23 at the time of writing this. i believe that this is a horrendous overreach by the government. it starts with social media to "protect the children" then moves to chat apps then the wider intnernet as a whole. without diving into my hatred for government in it's current form. i will not be using social media until these completely unneccessary laws are repealed.
